Slapstick - never released demotape - recorded 1996
pre-Antidote-band, with Joris on guitars, Jaeques on drums, Arne on bass and Theunis on vocals. These recordings have a nice little story: we recorded this in de Blauwe Aanslag, the squat where Bart lived at the time and what later became the Antidote-homebase. After recording these songs we had a little afterparty on E's and Bart, Arne, Joris and Jaeque ran down to the practise room to get rid of the chemical energy. There was this one song that Arne had come up with earlier and that he had played with both Bart and with Jaeque and Joris on different occasions. Playing this with the 4 of us (and the influence of the drugs of course) made the song sound really good and that was when we decided it was time to start a new band: Antidote was born. The song we played became the song "Money" and was released on "My Life". You could say that was the very 1st Antidote-song. The fact that we started Antidote is probably the reason why we never got to make a release with these tracks, and that makes this an MP3-only release. Fuck we were ahead of our time ;o)
Note to frequent visitors: I said the lyrics would follow, but I can't remember them anymore. I might find the lyric sheet one day... who knows.
